Our clients wanted a contemporary new home that would be fully off-grid on their large working farm in the Great Southern region. The house sits as a sculptural element on the side of a hill, framed by the landscape.

We were thrilled to be invited to design renovations & additions to this beautiful old heritage listed home in Guildford. Conservation of the original house was given highest priority. Alterations and additions were designed to be sympathetic to the heritage values of the place and retain the original fabric wherever possible but also to restore much of the fabric of the original home.

Inspiration was drawn from the Australian vernacular, farmhouses and shearing sheds to create a house that is beautiful, functional and above all else a family home.

The great Australian Shearing Shed provided the inspiration for this family home in Wagin. Our clients come from a sheep farming family & wanted their new home to reflect their heritage.
